"Where is Piglet?" - a fun game I play with my Jack Russell

by Jeremy
(Canada)

This is a game I often play with my Jack Russell...Piglet and one that you might want to try with your own dog. He is two and we have been playing this game since he was 6 months old and decided to hide under the couch and so we began the game to get him to come out from under the couch and now he plays it just for fun.

With a playful tone you sing "Where is Piglet? Where is Piglet?" as you are covering your eyes up (like a game peek a poo) and he goes and hides under a blanket, or a bed, coat or whatever he can.

Next, we start looking all around for him like we are looking for a kid... and sing --- " are you there?" as you look under the table, chairs and various other items. As we get closer to him we can see his tail wagging faster and faster.

Then, when we find him we say -- THERE YOU ARE, there you are... and tell him -- You are such a good boy, you are such a good boy , I love you .. I love you as we are petting him and he rolls over on his back and scoots across the floor and then runs around as if there is a big reward.

He will play this game for hours.. as long as we don't go hoarse singing for him...... after a few times I give him a few treats to reward him for playing. I have used this game to get him to come inside after playing outside for a while and to get him into the car at the dog park as well.

Pedigreed Pups:

HI Jeremy. THANKS SO MUCH for sharing this story about the great little game that you play with your Jack Russell. We certainly enjoyed reading it. And I'm sure that all our other readers will too. Who knows, a few of them, might even try this game themselves with their own dogs.

BTW, to all our readers, please tell us also exactly what you think about the above story by leaving some interesting comments below.
