We Have the Happiest Springer Spaniels on the Planet

by Frances
(MS, USA)

I have not just one, but two AKC purebred dogs. They are 3-year-old English Springer Spaniels.

Dr. Jones Ultimate Canine Health Formula - Complete Dog Health Supplement

My husband is a hunter, which made us want a type of bird dog. We came across the English Springer Spaniel when we were living in our first apartment. We originally wanted something like a Chocolate Lab or a Yellow Lab, but there were size restrictions on dogs for the apartments we lived in. That left us a small selection of bird dogs to choose from.

Our first Springer was a black and white male named Floyd. He was more of the "show" variety of English Springer Spaniel, though he was a good hunter. He was possibly one of the best dogs we ever had.

After he was gone, my husband and I knew we would always have Springers for as long as we lived. When we moved into our home, we got our two AKC Purebred dogs. They are from the Denalisunflo line of Springers, which are well-known in the hunting community. They are brothers from the same litter, and are beautiful dogs.

They are liver and white in color with friendly eyes and a soft muzzle. They love to hunt and have unbelievable drive when they are in the field. Aside from being great hunters, they are wonderful family dogs as well.

They are large enough to be able to play with my boys, but small enough to not be clumsy and cumbersome around the house. They are unbelievably friendly and happy dogs. I often joke that we have the happiest dogs on the planet, as their tails are constantly wagging. If they are standing up, their tails are wagging, letting the world know what happy dogs they are!
