The loveable Bichon Frise is my absolute favorite dog breed

by Tammy
(USA)

As a lifelong dog owner, I find many different dog breeds interesting, lovable, and fun. However, my absolute favorite dog breed is the Bichon Frise.

These little white cotton balls are a ton of fun and probably the most personable dog breed out there. They are incredibly friendly; my two bichons will run up to anyone to get petted, even complete strangers! They are also very good with children. I never have to worry that they will snap or growl at a child.

Another great trait is their size. Though bichons are on the smaller side, usually 10-15 pounds, they are large enough to play with children or bigger dogs without worrying that they will be hurt. And they are small enough that you can put them in the backseat and take off for the weekend.

Bichons are also very smart dogs, they can be taught to do tricks and entertain people. In the past they were actually used as circus dogs! Bichons also excel at agility competitions. Agility competitions are obstacle courses that the owner and dog run through to show their speed and agility. This is great exercise for the dog (and owner)!

Most importantly, bichons are loving. They are incredibly excited every time you come home and love to see you. Because they are so attached to their owners, they are able to read when you want to play fetch or roll around on the floor or when you are tired and just want to snuggle on the sofa. I would recommend a bichon frise for any family or individual who would like to have a little white puff of sunshine in their life!
