Stuffed toys definitely rate highest on our dogs excitement-meter!

Stuffed dog toys are tops for my dogs

Stuffed dog toys are tops for my dogs

We have an apso and a spitz mixed breed. He is the first dog our family adopted so quite obviously we are all very fond of him and were always on a lookout to get him some dog friendly toys that would fascinate him and keep him involved.

We tried all sorts of toys, we had heard that we can buy some of the favorite dog toys from a local store nearby and we got him all kinds of available ones there, the chewable dog toys, the battery operated ones that would make all kinds of sounds to keep him captivated, we got him plastic ones, all possible kinds, but nothing caught his attention.

Suddenly, one day we noticed him carrying a soft toy in his mouth, which he got from the attic. It was a furry-puppy. Till date, that is the only toy he is fond of. Using the term 'fond of' will not do justice, because he simply adores it. It's soft and furry and squeaks a little, when he chews it, so probably he thinks it's alive.

He drags it around with him everywhere. He needs to sleep with the toy besides him, will have his meals only when we pretend that the puppy-toy is having it too. Its more of an obsession with him. Not that he doesn't like to play with balls, he loves them too, but the stuffed toy definitely rates highest on his excitement-meter.

He especially likes to hold the toy between his paws and chew his ears. We guess that he feels the stuffed puppy is helpless and so he more possessive about him. He cares for him like his baby!
