Rest in Peace Juno - Our Beloved Yellow Lab

by Jessee

Years ago when I graduated from college I moved into an apartment in a high rise building with my best friend at that time. We decided to buy a dog and we fell in love with a yellow Labrador puppy. We named him Juno. He was such a beautiful dog.

We had one really big issue in out way however. Our apartment building had a 30 pound weight limit on pets. We knew that we were going to get in trouble in a short time as our cute little blond baby grew into a much larger adult dog.

Why? Well for one reason, this particular apartment building had a rule that all dog owners needed to carry their dogs in through the lobby whenever they came or went - which I always did.

One day we did get a fine for not carrying Juno in. I thought that this was impossible at the time as I knew that I always carried him in when I came inside. As it turns out, however, Juno was getting so big that my roommate stopped carrying him in.

It was very funny to me trying to imagine my tiny little roommate carrying a growing yellow lab puppy over time but at the time not quite as humorous as it is now. At any rate, we soon found and moved into to a much more dog friendly apartment and on a lower floor.

I remember those times fondly now as I remember exactly how Juno added so much happiness to my life. Every day after work or school we’d take him for walks in the local parks, he traveled with us everywhere when we visited friends or family, and he was a constant cuddler when we were at home just chillin’.

He is missed but he is a warm memory and will always have a place in my heart. Looking back at pictures now of him as a pup and later as an adult always brings a tear or two to my eyes. We love you Juno - RIP!

Pedigreed Pups:

Jessee, thanks so much for sharing your wonderful story about your Lab Jessee. I am so sorry for your loss but I do think that sharing your memories of Jessee is one way to help you through your grief for him.
