Our Sweet Yorkie, Candi

by Gayle
(USA)

I am the owner of a 3.5 pounds AKC registered Yorkie Terrier named Candi. She is 4 years old.

Candi has a personality all her own. She has taken many falls, trying to be like our oldest Yorkie. At one point, she jumped from the arm of a chair and was knocked unconscious. She was not breathing and I was not going to let her just go. I gave her CPR using my thumbs and was able to revive her. According to my vet, it saved her life.

Candi is as sweet as her name. Due to numerous falls, she sometimes gets disoriented. She will turn in half a circle and then turn around the opposite way. Finally she will recall where she is to go. She loves to take her paw and tap other dogs on their nose to say hello when she meets them.

When our oldest Yorkie comes around her, especially when she is with me, Candi will use a deep growl to let her know she is not welcome and this is her time alone with me. For a small pup, she has a "lion-like" growl that is very amuzing to everyone that hears her.

Candi loves playing with toys. She will grab a toy and growl with it in her mouth. She loves to tease with the toy and will approach you with it. When you reach for it she will take off running thru the house for you to catch her. Candi is one of my joys in my life and without her in it, life would not be the same.
