Our Puppy Slevin Owes It All to His Predecessor, Missy

I have five children. We have two cats, Princess Leah and Bruce Willis. I had to put my car in the shop for a few days and that meant that we had to walk to the bus stop. Our stop is three blocks away across a very busy road.
On the way home this little scrawny puppy started to follow us. Because we had to cross the busy street, I was worried. So we asked a few people that lived in the houses we were nearby and no one knew whose dog this was. And it was still following. So when we had had to go across, we brought the pup.
We decided to make a couple of signs and post them at the post office and the gas station. So we brought this puppy home. Well the kids came to life. They played so hard with her. I told them that she was probably someones dog, and to try to not get attached. We would hang the signs in the morning.
My neighbor brought me some dog food, and a collar and leash to use. I had a carrier for her to sleep in that night indoors and a doghouse, too. I tried to prepare the kids to be able to let her go, but I secretly hoped she didn't have a home.
She was very skinny. This puppy dog made puddles on the kitchen floor, she made messes on the carpet. Ew! It was a very long night.
The next morning I took the kids to the bus stop and when I came back, there was a man riding up the street looking for his little lost puppy dog. My heart sunk for my kids, but I was happy to return her to her home. We found out her name was Missy. That was a few months ago.
We have then since frequented our local animal shelter, and finally brought home one just for us. He is a beagle, and we named him Slevin. We owe it all to a little puppy that followed us home from the bus stop.
