My Pomeranian Ginger is a Rascal

My dog is a red Pomeranian and she loves to bark so you can imagine the general attitude, her name is Ginger. She loves to be outside and play, we often take her for walks to try and keep her in shape.
Though often after a few blocks she gets tired and has to take a break. Though she loves to just lay in the sun or chase birds and things. She has a very sensitive stomach and so when buying food we have to make sure we buy the right brand.
As a general rule she is not allowed to eat ‘human’ food, which isn’t an uncommon rule among dog owners but we do try to keep to it. Her stomach is very sensitive, human food will for sure make her get sick and throw up all over the place, but recently we have realized that even normal dog food makes her sick too. We have taken her to the vet multiple times to figure out what we should do.
If you have a dog I would suggest taking care of your dog’s teeth particularly though. Our vet told us that Ginger’s teeth were rotting and that something must be done for them. So we continued in buying those treats that are supposed to help, but they didn’t really.
We’ve tried brushing her teeth but she extremely doesn’t like it. She growls and shakes her head and we can never get anything done! After a while of trying to clean her mouth we realized it wasn’t working. After we realized this the vet told us that the only thing to do was to let her rotten teeth fall out.
Because her mouth was so sore she wasn’t eating and it was making her even sicker than she normally is. After that we had to watch and wait for all her rotten teeth to fall out, because believe me when I say finding random, rotten, dog teeth around your house is not very exciting.
Another thing that we make sure we do is to keep her coat clean and her nails trimmed. We give her a bath fairly often, at least a few times a month because her coat is so long she often gets things stuck in it when she goes to the bathroom. This is super disgusting so it’s nice to keep her clean and trimmed, especially for the summer. We also use real dog shampoo, not human shampoo, and normally a specific kind for dry skin or whatever may be her problem at that time.
There are many things to do to keep your dog healthy, like taking them out for walks, brushing their teeth. Keeping them groomed, well exercised, well fed and taken care of is also a good thing to remember. I love my Ginger so I do my best for her - I wish you all luck with your dogs too.
