My Incredible English Bulldog, Musso

by Tammy
(UK)

This story is about my incredible English Bulldog, Musso. If you don't know much about dogs then you probably don't know how adorable English Bulldogs are.

They are short and stocky in build, have short mostly slick hair and tons of wrinkles! They also snore even when they aren't asleep, which scares the neighborhood kids.

Everyone has their own tastes but for me, there isn't a cuter, funnier breed of dog than these. I think that is saying a lot too because they come with a lot of baggage like monthly medical problems, above average slobbering and daily 'wrinkle maintenance' so they have to be precious or no one would want to deal with all of that.

That provides some backdrop for my short funny story about Musso. So I work a very stressful job that includes weekly deadlines, (that if aren't met could cost multi-million dollar deals) phones constantly ringing and large workloads. Like all jobs things tend to ebb and flow so not all days are bad, but this day had been B-A-D.

I speed home as usual to let Musso out, at this point in the day he has been alone in the house for 12+ hours and I know his little bladder is bursting! I pull in the driveway and once he comes running out my mood already starts to lift.

He does his usual routine of jumping all over me and checking my car for any food he can have. I go inside and leave him alone to use the bathroom.

He doesn't like to stay out long so I go to the front porch and he isn't there which is unusual but I figure he needs a few more minutes. I wait about five more minutes and then walk to the side yard to see if I can find him and here he comes. In all of his glory he comes running by me as fast as a bullet with a large tube in his mouth.

I finally get to him and retrieve the tube he has almost shredded. I don't know what it can be until I read the label. It is the ancestry scroll that my husband has ordered for his dad's birthday! For about a minute I want to scream, then I look down at that wrinkled, slobbering mess that is Musso and I just burst out laughing. He has never really been in to tearing things up so I'm not sure why he did that day.

All I know is that I immediately realized again why dogs are so incredible. To take a day like mine had been and completely erase it with the carefree fun that dogs always have is amazing.
