My hyper, energetic Vizsla, Hopper

by Sandy
(MN, US)

I have an AKC registered Vizsla named Hopper. She is almost three years old now.

As a puppy, she was very friendly with everybody. I used to take her for puppy play days every week to socialize her with other dogs.

As she grew, we started going to dog parks and she would come up to every dog and wanted to play. She was always the life of the party and made all the other "lazy" dogs run and chase her.

Lately, Hopper lost her interest in other dogs and she even growls at them when we go to the park or beach. I don't know what happened and why she changed all of the sudden. But she still loves people and especially children.

She is a very hyper, energetic dog, so I try to take her with me everywhere. Lately we've been going on a boat with her and she makes a great boat and water dog. Sometimes she would get a little seasick, but when we anchor and let her run, she forgets about her sickness in instant.

We also made a lot of friends thanks to Hops. Since she is so beautiful and fun to watch, many people come up to us to ask questions about her or just to pet her.

She never wants to leave from wherever we are, so it's always a chasing game. Sometimes we trick her, but it keeps getting harder each time, since now she knows most of our tricks.

She is very stubborn, but when we pretend that we'll leave her there, she starts barking and whining, if there are no other people there to play with her. One time she even started swimming towards our boat when we left her at a send bar, and then we pulled her in the boat.

She can be spoiled and pain in a butt, but she is also the sweetest girl, and I love her very much.
