My GSD Leona loves to chase lizards!

by Jason

I always wanted to have a pet dog since my school days. Finally I bought a purebred German Shepherd dog. I went to a place where they sold purebred dog breeds. They had all kinds of purebred dogs.

After going through all of the cute puppy dogs I chose a big pup sitting in a corner mocking at her brother. I named her Leona. She was a dark girl with thick coat and a rowdy look on her face. She became an instant hit with my family and become our favorite dog.

My mother has experience with her pets in her younger days but Leona was too naughty to handle. She used to disturb my mother while sweeping the floor, stealing my socks and hiding it in her hideout. I had a puppet raccoon and it was her favorite toy to play with.

She will become so energetic when the raccoon comes and plays with her. The raccoon ended up losing one of its eyes to the mighty Leona in a recent match of war!

Her other main interest is chasing lizards and other small creatures in our garden. When she sees a small lizard or a rat Leona becomes super dog and I have never seen her run like that.

The most favorite thing for her is dinner or lunch time. She waits till we finish our meal and begins to beg for the tasty stuff from mom. In a flash her plate will be clean as if someone has cleaned it with washing soap!
