My Beautiful Belladonner

by Jamie

I must say that my favorite dog is my Pit Bull Belladonner. When looking for a purebreed dog I knew I would not want a small "carry-me" type of dog, but apparently I got one anyway.

At only seven weeks old he realizes that he is the king of this household and like any royalty (or purebred dog breeds) they expect their every whim to be catered to.

And, he just has a knack of getting his own way - he is a tiny little boy but by using his hind feet and neck muscles he can climb onto anything. Of course, this does not mean that he won't whine and whimper to guilt you into saving him the trouble.

Now, all dogs enjoy a nibble from the kitchen table every now and then but Donner seems to think we should not only feed him but also set him a place at the table. And, since he doesn't like to be left alone he has his own little purse that he jumps into for trips outside the house.

He looks like a little chocolate covered angel with his head sticking out of his purse and when you put a bow on his head he just knows he is the Belle (well, Donner) of the ball. He sleeps wherever he desires (my bed), eats whatever he desires (my food), and plays with whatever he desires (my shoes).

But, even when he is being the biggest pain in the b... uh, neck he looks up at you with those big brown eyes and your heart just has to melt. True, obedience school is in the future and he needs to get to understand that eventually he is going to get too big and too strong to always be in charge. But, for right now I am just enjoying his puppy exuberance and his puppy cuddles.

This is why God made puppies and babies so cute, you fall in love with them on sight and ignore all the aggravating things they do just because they make you say "awwwwww". He won't always want to wear bows on his head or be able to fit into a blue purse, but he will always be my baby.
