My Baby, Daphne the Daschund - RIP

by Sherri Isner
(Yelm Washington)

My baby Daphne

My baby Daphne

I bought my little Daphne in January of 1997. As soon as I seen her, I knew I wanted to bring her home. She was the sweetest dog and loyal in every way. My daph and I went through many tough things in life.

I lost my one of my best friends shortly after getting her and she knew mommy was sad, she never left my side. She went through a couple of divorces with me, the loss of my mother and each time, she never left my side, there to lick my tears off my face while I was crying. She was truly my best fur friend ever and I miss her dearly.

At the age of 13, Daphne was diagnosed with a heart murmur and lost the ability to walk in her back legs. She had stopped eating, and looked at me with those beautiful eyes as to say, "mommy help me" so I did the very last beloved gift that I could do for her and had her sent to doggie heaven.

It was the hardest choice I have ever had to make in my life. I miss her so much, its only been a week but I have cried every day.

RIP my little angel, mommy loves you with all my heart
