Kong dog toys are too cool

by Andy
(USA)

My own puppies favorite dog toy is a kong. Do you know what they are? It is a rubber chew toy that looks kind of like soft serve ice cream in shape but the inside of it is hollow.

You can put treats in the hollow parts and the dog will play and chew on the toy until all the treats are out of it. I usually load several dog treats in ours and fill the end put peanut butter to seal it.

This single dog toy keeps my puppy, Chance, busy for at least 20 minutes or more with each try. He is a 17 week old puppy and likes to chew - a lot! The kong toy gives him all the chewing activity he desires and keeps him away from my shoes and other personal items when I’m not watching him step by step and moment by moment.

The good thing about kongs is that they make this toy in a small dog breed size all the way up to the larger dog breeds. Very soon I expect I will have to get a larger dog breed sized kong for Chance since he is almost 30 pounds now.

If you do choose to buy a kong dog toy for your dog I do think that it will be worth it - just make sure that you buy one that is larger than your dog can possibly swallow. I enjoy watching my puppy play with his all day long and I bet your puppy or dog, if he’s a chewer, would enjoy getting a kong dog toy too.
