Koddie, the best dog ever, RIP

by Jodi Moen
(sandwich, Ma. USA)

Koddie

Koddie

Koddie was found when I was an ACO, he was living under a car and had been abandoned, he was about 12 wks old at the time. He was skinny, grungy, and greasy but he had this charisma that made me want to be part of his life.

I had my sister-in-law adopt him, knowing all the while he was really my dog. Eventually he came to live with me where he was happiest.

He and I went through good times and bad times, sometimes more bad than good it seemed but he was always by my side and my best friend. When my brother was killed, Koddie made sure that one part of his body was touching mine the whole long ride to the state where my brother had lived, he protected me and was quite intimidating, but in reality he was the most gentle dog.

Everyone who met him loved him, both for his personality and for his looks, he was a gorgeous silver sable.

He had a minor injury that healed and when it reflared I took him to the vet expecting to hear it was the injury but xrays showed that he had a tumor.

I'd love to be able to say he fought a brave battle but I can't, it was a sneak attack from the get go and six weeks from first learning of it my beautiful boy was gone.

I can't express in a few short words how great he was or how much I loved him just know that He was and I did.
