Wirehaired Pointing Griffon -
Purebred Dogs and Puppies

A member of the Sporting group, The Wirehaired Pointing Griffon is particularly adapted for swampy country, where its harsh coat is excellent protection.

Griffs are excellent swimmers and love to play in the water. Their wiry double coat is hard and coarse, never curly or wooly, with a thick undercoat of fine hair, giving an messy or unkempt appearance. They shed little to no hair and pet dogs need to be groomed professionally - at least once or twice a year.

Medium sized, with a noble, square-shaped head, strong of limb, and bred to cover all terrain encountered by the walking hunter, its movement shows an easy catlike gracefulness. They are also well known for their bushy eyebrows and moustache, padded paws and webbed toes.

Wirehaired Pointing Griffon

The Griffon excels equally as a pointer in the field or a retriever in the water. They are easy to train, devoted to family, and possess a friendly temperament that endears them to all.

They are outgoing and show a tremendous willingness to please. They are trustworthy and make an excellent family dog as well as a meticulous hunting companion.

The nickname of "supreme gundog" is well earned. This Griffon has a quick and intelligent mind and is very easily trained. The Griffon does needs a tremendous amount of exercise however and are not recommended for apartment life.
