This little dog breed has a similar behavioral profile as the Standard Manchester Terrier, with a few minor differences. The Toy Manchester is relatively healthy, easy to keep clean and practically odorless.

Though he can be very affectionate with his owners, he can be a one-person dog and very suspicious of strangers. Remember, these are terriers and may show aggression toward other dogs. They have a high prey drive toward small animals.

He is a skilled little watchdog. Like most toy breeds, this dog needs proper handling and socialization. The Toy Manchester can be harder to housebreak than the Standard Manchester. These short haired little dogs are also more sensitive to extremes in temperature and will appreciate a sweater on cold days.

Country of origin: England
Lifespan: 15 or more years
