Toy Fox Terrier - Purebred
Dogs and Puppies

A member of the Toy group, The Toy Fox Terrier is still a working terrier and a true American Dog Breed. They were developed by breeding small Smooth Fox Terriers with several other toy breeds.

Many of them delight in hunting and going to ground and chasing squirrels and the like all over their yard. The Toy Fox possesses keen intelligence, courage, and animation.

Toy Fox Terrier

They are a naturally well groomed, small, short coated, animated, proud, and alert dog. They are also known by the names American Toy Terrier and Amertoy.

As a toy dog breed he is quite diminutive (weighing in at around 3-7 pounds and 8-11 inches tall) and is completely devoted with an endless and abiding love for his master and family. And these dogs are filled with a boundless sense of energy and love nothing better than to couch sit or "couch pounce" so that they can be completely aware of everything that is happening all the time - all day long and every day.

These dogs are good with other pets but are not good with toddlers or small children however they do well with older children. The best home for this breed would be with an active stay at home retiree or a family with a fenced in yard.

Characteristic traits are his beautiful head, his short glossy and predominantly white short haired coat, a short high-set tail and erect ears. They are very easy to groom due to their extremely short hairs on their coat. Overall it is considered a very light shedder.

Country of origin: United States
Lifespan: 12-15 years
Colors: Tricolored, black and white, tan and white
Known health problems: Luxating patellas
