• The Giant Schnauzer is the largest of the three Schnauzer dog breeds.

• The name Schnauzer translates to mean "snout" and was chosen for the breed because of the Giants snout and whiskers.

• The Giant Schnauzer is considered a “groomed” breed, meaning that it does need regular coat maintenance.

• Giant males typically range from 80-100 pounds each while and females range from 60- 80 pounds.

• During the '30s, the first Giant Schnauzers were imported to the United States.

• The Giant Schnauzer is a natural born guard dog.

• The Giant Schnauzer needs lots of exercise.

• Highly intelligent, the Giant excels in many different forms of activity such as agility, police work, and obedience.
