• In Germany the Giant Schnauzer is known as the "Riesenschnauzer".



• The Giant Schnauzer is the largest of the three Schnauzer dog breeds.

• The name Schnauzer translates to mean "snout" and was chosen for the breed because of the Giants snout and whiskers.

• The Giant Schnauzeris considered a"groomed" breed, meaning that it does need regular coat maintenance.

• Giant males typically range from 80-100 pounds each while and females range from 60- 80 pounds.

• During the '30s, the first Giant Schnauzers were imported to the United States.
