Purebred Dogs and Puppies

Japanese Chin

Description

The Japanese Chin is a very old member of the Toy Group.

He is playful and loves to make up his own tricks to show off to his audience of friends.

This breed if dog has always been, first and foremost, a companion dog.

These dogs can be extremely mischevious and clownlike. They are also called the Japanese Spaniel.

Generally, the Chin dog breed is divided into 2 weight groups- above 7 pounds and below 7 pounds and are 8-11 inches tall.

Unlike many of it's small dog cousins, this breed is typically not a barker.

Considered royalty to the Japanese, the Chin is very bright, alert and likes to be clean and tidy. They are very cat-like, sensitive, have a profuse coat.

Like many other short-faced dog breeds, the Japanese Spaniel tends to wheeze and snore. Additionally, they are prone to eye and respiratory problems.

Chin are good with mature children and other pets but should be protected around large dogs. Exercise requirements are quite low making them perfect apartment dogs and the perfect pet for a single or elderly person.
