Glen of Imaal Terrier -
Purebred Dogs and Puppies

A member of the Terrier group, The Glen of Imaal Terrier is a game and spirited little dog with great courage when called upon or as needed. Otherwise, the Glen, one of the four terrier breeds from Ireland, is a very gentle and docile companion.

Glenns can live with other pets if socialized to them early on, however they may chase household cats or other small pets if given the chance.

This is a very short legged dog breed that is very low to the ground with a long body, and a shaggy, unkempt, medium-length coat.

Although generally less easily excited than most other other terrier breeds, this little dog is always ready to give chase and likes to dig like crazy.

Overall these dogs are quite easy to groom but they do require stripping twice a year. Best home situation for the Glenn is inside with it's family.

They can do okay indoors but a fenced yard outside for additional exercise would be an added bonus. They love to be taken on daily walks.

These intelligent dogs are also late bloomers and originated as a breed in Ireland. They do respond well to obedience training but they can also be very stubborn as well.

Country of origin: Irish dog of unknown origins
Lifespan: 13-14 years
Colors: Red, brindle, blue or wheaten
Known health problems: Generally a healthy breed

"Dogs are animals that poop in public and you're supposed to pick it up. After a week of doing this, you've got to ask yourself, "Who's the real master in this relationship?" - Anthony Griffin
