Brittany - Purebred Dogs and Puppies

A member of the Sporting group, The Brittany is a natural pointer and excellent retriever who makes a great hunting companion. They were developed in the 1800s as a breed of gun dog primarily bred for bird hunting. They are also a very active and enthusiastic hunter.



This dog breed can be very resistant to cold and damp conditions.These dogs usually have exceptionally friendly temperaments; they love people and get along well with other dogs.

They are a happy, alert dog, neither mean nor shy. These dogs are very active and require a lot of exercise and need a lot of room to run - they are not recommended for apartment life. Because of its jolly demeanor it is very popular as a companion dog.

A compact, closely knit dog of medium size, this breed is a leggy dog having the appearance, as well as the agility, of a great ground coverer and are also popular as a companion dog.

They require only a few minutes of brushing each day to maintain their lovely coat and they can be wonderful family pets. Check the ears carefully when grooming since they can be prone to ear infections.

Strong, vigorous, energetic, and quick of movement it maintains ruggedness, is without clumsiness, which is a characteristic of the Brittany. He can be tailless or has a tail docked to approximately four inches.

Colors: Black and white, orange and white, liver and white, liver tri-color, black tri-color; Nose may not be black
Known health problems: Hip dysplasia, seizures
