Boston Terrier

Description

Made in America and a member of the Non-Sporting group, The

Boston Terrier is a lively, highly intelligent, smooth coated, short-headed, compactly built, short-tailed and well balanced dog.

They are brindle, seal, or black in color and evenly marked with white. The head is in proportion to the size of the dog and the expression indicates a high degree of intelligence.

The body is rather short, the limbs strong and neat, the tail is short and no feature is so prominent that the dog appears badly proportioned. They are heat intolerant and prone to snoring and must live indoors. Boston Terriers are not meant to live outside as it does not tolerate heat or cold temperatures very well.

His coat is easy to care for when it comes to grooming. A few strokes with a soft brush will keep his short, smooth coat clean and gleaming. He is loving and sensitive, happy and bright, at times a clown, and has a deep love for his family and children.

They are also excellent watchdogs. Nicknamed the " American Gentleman " the Boston is one of America's native breeds having been developed in Boston, MA.
