• Bred for stamina in the field, it has boundless energy andprefers to always be busy.


• In Hungarian, Pulimeans sheepdog.

• The Puli tends to be a one-person dog.

• Pronounce the name "Poo - lee". The plural of Puli is Pulik.

• The Puli has superior intelligence and is an extremely vigilant worker.

• The Puli is very suspicious overall and makes an excellent watchdog.

• Very bouncy in its gait, the Puli moves much like a bouncing ball.

• Puli's are considered a very old dog breed, originating anywhere from 1,100 years to 8,000 years ago.

• Their cords form naturally, just watch the coat grow into those wonderful cords as the dogs mature. They don’t wash out, either, they’re permanent.

• Puli's coats begin to form cords at around 10 months of age.

• The black coat predominates, but there are white, gray and apricot colored Puli's.
